I'm feeling a little guilty about my lack of reporting lately, but seem to have been very busy with both fishing and non-fishing matters. the Tongariro has been patchy with recovering fish throughout and the odd freshy to keep things interesting. The TT also has some good numbers of recovering fish, also with the odd freshy amongst them. The fish are concentrated in groups so it is necessary to go looking for them - once found there is still good fishing to be had. Ota is fishing a bit hard yet from my experience. Brendon Mathews and I managed 3 non-trophy fish to the boat the other day, but yesterdays trip ended with a skunking! I have included a photo of Klaus with his first ever river fish. We had to chase it down a set of rapids and make a river crossing to land it - all very exiting!! The Delta has been tough generally, but we are picking a few fish up jigging in Waihi bay.
